Our Little Story
In June of 2010, Jemma Rose came into the world, 3 1/2 months early and weighing 1lb 15oz. SURPRISE! It was one of those life-changing moments that happen to “other people”. Luckily it happened to us.
Soon after, the idea of “Little Jems” was born.
Jemma gave me the push that I needed to start doing something I love. Designing. Creating. And still spending my time at home with her. Bliss.
In the past 8 years, Little Jems has allowed me to be creative and give back to those who were so kind when we needed it most. Each year Little Jems donates a portion of annual sales to the life-saving Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Victoria General Hospital, on beautiful Vancouver Island. They are responsible for giving me my little Jem, and for that I will always be grateful.
If there is one wish I have for Little Jems it is that they be cherished everyday. I get great satisfaction when people buy Little Jems for no reason other than ... “I think she would love this” or “I am going to treat myself today”.
Everyone should be lucky enough to have their own little Jem
